Najbardziej pamiętam pierwszy prezent, który dałam Mojej mamie. Biżuteria oczywiście. Korale z pokrojonego i wysuszonego ziemniaka, pomalowane na czerwono. I mama nosiła tę wyjątkową ozdobę:).

Jak stare stare jest to święto? Sięga starożytności i kultu bogini Izydy, która była symbolem macieżyństwa. Kobieta zajmowała dość wysoką pozycję społeczną, ponieważ była fundamentem szczęśliej rodziny.

I remember the most the first git I have aver given to my Mum. Jewellery of course. It was a necklace made of chopped and dried potato, painted red. And my Mum were wearing this unique stuff :)

How old has this day been celebrated? It started in ancient time and worshipping Isis goddess who was symbol of motherhood. Women occupied high social position as a foundation of a happy family.

Rownież w Grecji i Rzymie otaczano kultem kobiety-matki. W Grecji symbolem macierzyństwa była Reja,  Rzymie świętowano Hilaria na cześć bogini Cybele. 

Wikipedia podaje, że w XVII w Anglii  wprowadzono specjalnie wolną niedzielę, przeznaczoną na odwiedziny matki. Tradycja zaniknęła, ale odrodziła się w 1905 roku, kiedy ustanowiono Święto Dnia Matki, które zaczęto popularyzować. 

Obecnie na cały świecie jest dzień przeznaczony dla tej wyjątkowej osoby. 

Also in ancient Greece and Rome women - mothers had been worshipped. In Greece the symbol of motherhood was Reia, In Rome there were Hilaria days for celebration of Cybele goddess.

Wiki says that in XVII century people started celebrating Sunday as a day for visiting a mother. This tradition had gone but came back in 1905 when Mother's Day was finally set up and started being more and more popular.

Currently around the world there is a day dedicated to this special person - your Mummy.
